(Trump.news) Yes, The Donald can win: Slowly but surely the pols and pundits are coming around to the fact that yes, GOP presidential nominee-in-waiting Donald Trump definitely can win the general election, likely against Democrat Hillary Clinton (whose voters are so sycophantic three-fourths say they would vote for her even if she winds up being indicted by the Justice Department for any number of charges related to using a private, unsecured email server while serving as secretary of state). As noted by Sean Trende at RealClearPolitics:
I still believe that he is the underdog, but I have to concede that he can win. I would put his chances more around 30 percent today. If at some point he establishes a durable lead (he returned to trailing Clinton Friday morning), or if he can push his average up into the high forties, I will revise things accordingly.
Why might this continue? Here are a five reasons… Read them, here.
And, for another perspective into how Trump wins, read this from Politico‘s David S. Bernstein about how Hillary loses.
Former House Speaker and potential Trump VP Newt Gingrich explains [here] why Donald Trump appears to be leaving Hillary Clinton in the dust, even though she has more than ten times as many campaign staffers as he does.
JEANINE PIRRO: Based on what you said… This is almost a new era in politics. Where you’ve got both of these candidates not going the traditional media market, and all of the ads and all that, just Tweeting things out. And Donald Trump, when you think about it, the man is –he doesn’t sleep, I’m convinced of it. He is constantly Tweeting, on the phone, he’s got the control room numbers for all the [TV] stations.
Hillary on the other hand, I have this visual of her from the beginning of the campaign where she was marching and they roped off the reporters from her. Isn’t she just a personification of the old-school politics?
NEWT GINGRICH: Well, she is, and she has a number of really bad habits. See the full interview (with video) here.
Gee, what happens if Trump winds up winning the White House in November? For one, he will literally have to play catch-up with our allies, thanks to Barack Obama. Trump would have had to do so anyway, just because Obama’s foreign policy has been so feckless and rudderless, but after Obama’s “Trash Trump” tour through Asia last week, the newly elected Republican president now has a much more difficult job. Paul J. Sanders at The National Interest explains:
President Obama’s effort to exploit an international summit for political purposes is dangerous for several reasons. First, whatever he may think of Mr. Trump, politics actually should stop at the water’s edge—otherwise, it will be virtually impossible for the United States to build an effective and sustainable foreign policy without bipartisan support. Even if President Obama has decided to coast through his remaining months in office without attempting to achieve anything important, attacking the likely Republican nominee on an international trip is reckless and disturbing.
Beyond this, however, if Mr. Obama succeeds in establishing his new standard for presidential behavior during election campaigns, he will profoundly undermine both America’s image and his future successors. A raucous year-plus process to fill a four-year job is bad enough inside our borders—does Mr. Obama really want to extend it until it covers the globe? How does he think that new presidents will be able do their jobs after months of nasty attacks from their predecessors? And is this really the way to build a shining city on a hill to inspire a global wave of democratization?

Remember when the GOP establishment grimaced when Trump attacked New Mexico GOP Gov. Susana Martinez? Well, there was a reason for that – it wasn’t just random and superficial (because she refused to meet with him and show up at his campaign events). Byron York of the Washington Examiner explains, here.
