The polling result suggests that Trump has reversed his downward slide as earlier this week he was down two points, according to the tracking result on August 24.
The lead has veered back and forth between the two candidates throughout August, even though Trump was ahead by seven points at the end of July.
The USC Dornsife/L.A. Times Poll asks roughly 3000 American citizens each day about the presidential race in order to reflect the political pulse of the country.
