One of Donald Trump’s main campaign promises leading up to the 2016 presidential election was that he was going to bring jobs back to the United States from the foreign countries that had previously been receiving them. While the leftists who have done nothing good for our country criticized his ability to get this done, Trump is already proving them wrong.
The Ford Motor Company, which was recently planning on moving much of its production to Mexico, has announced that they will be keeping their manufacturing plant in Kentucky open as a direct result of Trump winning the presidency.
Keith Naughton of Bloomberg reports, “During his campaign, Trump was relentless in his criticism of Ford for planning to move all its North American small-car production to Mexico, where wages are 80 percent lower than in the U.S. Ford also builds the Lincoln MKZ sedan at a factory in Hermosillo, Mexico. During the campaign, Trump threatened to slap Ford’s Mexican-built cars with a 35 percent tariff.”
While one can argue about the effectiveness of tariffs in regards to free market economics, there is no denying their effectiveness when it comes to creating jobs in the United States. See, the Trump effect has already begun and if it continues in the manner in which many expect, this presidency is going to be a great thing for our country as a whole. After all, our once booming motor industry has been dwindling for decades now, which has prevented many Americans from being able to find jobs in the field that they have spent years flourishing in. All of that seems to be changing and Trump hasn’t even taken office yet.
Things are going very well as a whole in regards to this election. We have already defeated the Clinton machine by sending Hillary packing, so the next step on the road back to greatness in America is creating jobs that will stimulate the economy in a meaningful way. The citizens are in desperate need of being able to help themselves once again, so hopefully bringing back jobs to our country will improve morale and help turn things around once again.
Even though their arm was twisted in order to make this decision, Ford deserves credit for keeping jobs stateside, as does President-elect Trump. The future of our country depends on these kinds of things going well, so we should all be rooting for the success of these decisions.
