We get it. Hollywood doesn’t like Donald Trump. He says things they don’t like and he doesn’t seem to care that they don’t like it. However, he still got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It couldn’t have always been bad, right?

Well, that was until someone destroyed the star. The blatantly political act may have resulted in vandalism charges for the perpetrator, but it may also lead to “punishment” from Hollywood.
As NBC News reported, “The West Hollywood City Council voted Monday night to urge the removal of President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the city’s mayor said.”
“The West Hollywood City Council did not pass the resolution because Donald Trump is a conservative or a Republican. Earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is an honor. When one belittles and attacks minorities, immigrants, Muslims, people with disabilities or women — the honor no longer exists,” said West Hollywood Mayor John Duran in an email to the network.
In other words, it’s not that Trump is conservative or Republican, but that he said mean things.
Meanwhile, Harvey Weinstein’s star remains unmolested and not in any danger of being removed, despite the many complaints against the mogul ranging from sexual harassment (which he’s admitted to) all the way to rape. Weinstein did far more than say mean things. He actually engaged in behavior that is reprehensible, and that’s just what he’s admitted to.
Weinstein isn’t the only despicable person who still has his star. Kevin Spacey has been cited in numerous complaints of sexual misconduct. Director Brett Ratner appears to have followed Weinstein’s example with several actresses; Natasha Henstridge said that she was forced to perform oral sex on him.
Their stars aren’t at risk.
But hey, a lot of his is mostly allegation, right? Maybe they don’t want to remove stars over mere allegations unless it’s for saying the wrong thing.
Bill. Cosby.
The disgraced comedian has been convicted of rape, one of the most horrific crimes a human being can commit. A jury of his peers found that he drugged women and then had sex with them against their will. For the rest of his days, Bill Cosby will be known as a rapist.
But he’s still got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Look, they can do whatever they want with the Walk of Fame. In the grand scheme of things, removing Trump would be a small matter and nothing more than the latest in a string of petty insults aimed at the president.
What I won’t do, however, is just sit here while they spew hypocrisy about Trump “attacking” women when people who have literally attacked women are still there, as are several others accused of doing similar acts. They can say it’s not about Trump being Republican or conservative, but we all know better.
If it was really about women, they’d be talking about a lot more than just removing Trump. The fact that they’re not shows them to be nothing but a bunch of liars.
