Rock superstar Bruce Springsteen hates President Trump.
During a recent interview with CBS‘s Gayle King, Springsteen offered up his opinion that Trump “doesn’t have a clue” when it comes to understanding the responsibilities of being president of the United States.
Unlike Springsteen himself, apparently, Trump doesn’t even “have a grasp of the deep meaning of what it means to be an American,” which of course means that Trump needs to be impeached.
Responding to a video clip of one of Trump’s “Keep America Great” speeches at a recent rally, Springsteen chided the Commander-in-Chief for having called out Springsteen by name in a negative context.
In case you missed it, Trump referred to Springsteen as “little Bruce Springsteen,” stating that he doesn’t need the help or support of Springsteen or any other celebrity in order to beat Hillary Clinton, assuming she runs for president for a third time.
Springsteen, as you may recall, joined Jon Bon Jovi and Barack and Michelle Obama on stage at an election-eve rally back in 2016, when it was assumed that Hillary was going to win the election. After Hillary lost, Springsteen stated that it was a “tragedy for democracy.”
Springsteen also took aim at Trump while on his “Springsteen on Broadway” tour, telling a New York City audience that “we’re just going through a terrible chapter in the battle for the soul of our nation” because of Trump.
The Obamas are apparently pretty good friends with Springsteen, as he was slated to join them on an episode of their Netflix special.
The Obamas also watched Springsteen’s Broadway show from balcony seats, with Barack Obama standing up at the end to offer an “affirmative point.”
Ironically, Springsteen is perhaps best known for his born “Born in the U.S.A.” hit, which doesn’t seem to jive with his current belief that America under Trump is failing. Springsteen would have rather seen Hillary in charge of the country because she, according to Springsteen, understands the “soul” of America.
Prior to the 2016 presidential election, Springsteen told Rolling Stone that he believed “the Republic is under siege by a moron, basically.”
“The whole thing is tragic,” Springsteen went on to state at the time.
Since that time, Springsteen has yet to miss an opportunity to bash Trump, and is typically asked questions towards this end by mainstream pundits who know that Springsteen will excitedly go off the rails in trashing the president for his own personal satisfaction.
Keep in mind that President Trump has been on a roll lately, having recently called out Obama for “treason” due to his alleged involvement with spying operations against the Trump campaign.
This is a pretty serious accusation, and one that Trump wouldn’t levy were there no merit to it. What this suggests is that Springsteen could be in the know as to what the Obamas were up to, hence his cozying up to them and continued animosity against Trump.
“Is he trying to say that illegal aliens, open borders, spying from the government, choking laws, higher taxes, caring about other countries more than our own, calling white people and United States history racist, H-1B (visas) and outsourcing jobs, third-wave feminist agendas, raising boys as girls, giving boys drugs to turn them into girls, sanctuary states and cities, and his party committing crimes and not getting punished is being American?” asked one Breitbart News commenter, referring to Springsteen’s claim that Trump’s policies aren’t American.
“I think being an American is the antithesis to that above-named crap.”
