The CIA official who reportedly filed what was a second-hand “whistleblower” report regarding a phone call President Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over the summer isn’t going to testify before a secret panel headed by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
The official — identified in a RealClearInvestigations report by Paul Sperry as 33-year-old Eric Ciaramella — was negotiating, through lawyers, to testify when those talks suddenly broke off this week.
That’s telling given what we know about Ciaramella: That he once worked with Vice President Joe Biden, former CIA Director and noted Trump hater John Brennan, and another DNC official who was attempting to solicit dirt on Trump from Ukrainian officials (like Hillary Clinton’s campaign did).
The Washington Examiner reported:
The whistleblower whose complaint launched impeachment proceedings against President Trump is unlikely to testify to Congress, as talks have ceased between his legal team and committee leaders.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, who has overseen depositions in Democrats’ impeachment proceeding, was initially eager for the whistleblower to testify before citing concern about the person being identified.
Republicans aren’t buying the sudden cop-out. Suspicious that Schiff has orchestrated the entire whistleblower episode — it’s been reported that Ciaramella contacted Schiff’s office prior to lodging his complaint — they now believe he is responsible for the breakdown in testimony negotiations because he doesn’t what Ciaramella cross-examined by them.
Another alleged whistleblower who supposedly corroborated Ciaramella’s version of events is also not going to testify, leaving tens of millions of Americans asking: Then what’s the impeachment inquiry really for if no one wants to talk about why it started?
“There is no indication that either of the original whistleblowers will be called to testify or appear before the Senate or House Intelligence committees. There is no further discussion ongoing between the legal team and the committees,” a person familiar with the talks told the Washington Examiner.
Last month, Schiff indicated in a statement on Twitter that the whistleblower wanted to offer testimony before his panel, which meets in the basement of the U.S. Capitol Building and does not allow any public testimony. That way, Schiff gets to release (or leak) whatever information he chooses — and he has reportedly done so.
We have been informed by the whistleblower’s counsel that their client would like to speak to our committee and has requested guidance from the Acting DNI as to how to do so.
We‘re in touch with counsel and look forward to the whistleblower’s testimony as soon as this week.

In mid-October, however, Schiff backtracked. “Our primary interest right now is making sure that that person is protected,” he said.
Now, however, Republicans are even more interested in gaining access to the whistleblower, especially after Sperry revealed so much about him. (Related: CNN’s Fredo Cuomo lets Adam Schiff lie unchallenged about Trump-Ukraine ‘quid pro quo’ that NEVER happened.)
“Federal documents reveal that the 33-year-old Ciaramella, a registered Democrat held over from the Obama White House, previously worked with former Vice President Joe Biden and former CIA Director John Brennan, a vocal critic of Trump who helped initiate the Russia ‘collusion’ investigation of the Trump campaign during the 2016 election,” Sperry wrote.
So, not only is he a Democrat stoolie, he was in on the conspiracy to launch “Spygate,” a phoney counterintelligence operation with the objective of pinning a false narrative on the president (Russian collusion, Ukrainian quid pro quo, etc.) so he can be removed from office.
It’s an operation to reverse the 2016 election results; to reverse the choice of more than 63 million Americans for president.
This blocking of Republicans isn’t new, either. As Sperry reported, Schiff and other Democrats barred them last month from asking additional questions about Ciaramella while proclaiming they were going to ensure his name was redacted from all deposition transcripts.
Like the Russian collusion nonsense, the Ukraine quid pro quo — which never happened — is also collapsing as a narrative. That’s likely the real reason why this CIA fall guy isn’t going to testify before Schiff’s committee: He’ll be outed as a player in the coup attempt.
