President Joe Biden and his administration will find ways to make sure America is flooded with illegals while he is seated in the White House – even after Republicans blocked the border bill his regime is pushing in Congress.
A bombshell report released on Feb. 14 indicated that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is getting ready to implement its contingency plan for the mass release of 4,000 to 6,000 illegal immigrants. The reason? According to four officials at ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), who spoke to the Washington Post, they would need to cut detainee holding capacity because of the $700 million budget shortfall, which allegedly would have been funded under the $95 billion foreign aid package.
The said bill was blocked by House Republicans because they believe it would not address the border crisis and would just fund wars in Europe and the Middle East. DHS spokesperson Erin Heeter released a statement saying that “Congress rejected the bipartisan national security bill out of hand, which will put at risk DHS’s current removal operations, put further strain on our already overtaxed workforce, and make it harder to catch fentanyl at ports of entry.” As per Heeter, roughly half of the $8.5 billion annual budget of ICE is devoted exclusively to detentions.
WaPo further reported that the said bill would have provided $6 billion in funding that would allow ICE under Biden’s policies to continue housing illegal immigrants at detention centers throughout the nation. “The bill’s demise has led ICE officials to begin circulating an internal proposal to save money by releasing thousands of detainees and cutting detention levels from 38,000 beds to 22,000, which is the opposite of the enforcement increases Republicans say they want,” the news outlet added.
Meanwhile, Biden has repeatedly implored Congress to give him more resources to deal with the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border and he has been blaming the Republicans for not doing more. “Giving up on real solutions right when they are needed most in order to play politics is not what the American people expect from their leaders. Congress needs to act to give me, Secretary Mayorkas, and my administration the tools and resources needed to address the situation at the border,” Biden said in a statement on Tuesday, blasting the House GOP for Mayorkas’ impeachment. ICE detains immigrants with criminal backgrounds, those preparing for removal and those who fall under mandatory detention.
House GOPs were angered by the planned move. House Homeland Security Committee chairman Mark Green (R-TN) called it absurd on several levels. “This is just further proof of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ refusal to comply with the law requiring him to detain illegal aliens – one of the reasons he was just impeached,” he said, adding that Mayorkas has consistently requested fewer ICE beds year after year and always failed to fill the beds that Congress has allocated. “Instead of treating enforcement as a hostage negotiation – ‘give us more money or else’ – Secretary Mayorkas should just do his job and follow the law,” he also said.
Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) posted on X to express her outrage: “Biden is now holding our country hostage, threatening to release MS-13 gang members and known rapists & murderers into our communities unless Congress grants “asylum” amnesty to the 10 million illegals he allowed to walk across our border AND gives another $60 billion to [Ukraine].”

Observers have also been very critical of Biden’s “weak” border policies. A January poll conducted by CBS, the BBC‘s U.S. partner, suggested that nearly half of Americans view the situation at the border as a crisis, with 63 percent wanting “tougher” policies.
More migrants have been held while crossing the border illegally since Biden assumed office than under either former presidents Donald Trump, Barack Obama or George W Bush. Of the more than 6.3 million total, about 2.4 million have been allowed into the U.S., mostly to await decisions from immigration courts.
