A top health official in the United States has announced that should the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) become an actual pandemic, then all travel restrictions will become “irrelevant.”
Dr. Anthony Fauci reportedly told CNBC that once the novel disease goes rogue and starts spreading within community hotspots all over the place, you may as well give up on trying to keep infected persons out of the country because “you can’t keep out the entire world.”
“When you have multiple countries involved, it’s very difficult to do,” he added amid worry by the Trump administration that the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) has probably already taken hold here in the U.S. “In fact, it’s almost impossible.”
According to Dr. Fauci, when the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) was primarily just in China, the U.S. and other countries still “had a period of time, temporary” to try to prevent it from coming here. The most obvious way to do this was to impose travel restrictions from all offending areas.
However, now that the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) is on every continent, and spreading like wildfire here in the U.S. in places like Washington state and California, all bets are off now that the window of opportunity to contain it has closed.
Dr. Fauci believes that communist China has been very efficient and effective at containing the disease there, despite new cases emerging daily in the epicenter of Wuhan. China’s “draconian” lockdowns and city shutdowns, he further says, are helpful, though he believes that the U.S. would never adopt such methods itself.
Listen below as Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, discusses how communist China is currently the world’s biggest bully that must be defeated for the preservation of freedom:
While it’s certainly possible that the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) will eventually fizzle out on its own, especially with the arrival of the spring season, nobody knows for sure how the situation will transpire seeing as how this novel disease has never before been observed, and thus remains an anomaly in terms of how it will behave before all is said and done.
“The wild card here is that this is a brand-new virus, this novel coronavirus, and we do not know if it’s going to diminish as the weather gets warm,” says Dr. Fauci. “We can’t count on that.”
In case you’re not familiar with him, Dr. Fauci is in charge of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This department’s job is to prevent, diagnose and treat established infectious diseases, including other emerging diseases from the past such as Ebola and Zika.
According to Dr. Fauci, human clinical trials for a new Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) vaccine could begin in as little as six weeks from now, assuming everything goes as planned. However, this will be a phase-one trial, meaning by the time a commercial vaccine is released it will no longer be applicable to this current outbreak.
Most government officials seem to be in agreement at this point that the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) is rapidly becoming a global pandemic. They say that it’s only a matter of time before the virus really picks up speed in terms of spread here in the U.S., and that the White House is currently trying to divert about $2.5 billion in additional funding for a public health response.
Dr. Fauci says that this $2.5 billion is a mere “down payment,” and a “start,” but that more funds will be needed in the future to really tackle it.
