The Seattle Police Department (SPD) has expressed concern about what might happen in the city’s streets should Donald Trump ultimately be declared the winner of the 2020 election.
Though the results of the election are still being contested, there is a very real possibility that Trump will win and all hell will break loose in Seattle, which is understaffed, depleted and consequently unprepared to tackle potential mass civil unrest.
After the death of George Floyd and the consequential creation of the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ), the SPD was largely defunded, not to mention the fact that many of its officers have resigned this year.
As of this writing, the force only has 1,200 deployable police officers, the lowest number of personnel since 1990. Endless violence by Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa also led to some 118 police officer resignations since the beginning of the summer when riotous “protests” left swaths of the city in total shambles.
The SPD has also been told to basically stand down by area residents, who distrust the force’s use of crowd control tools to keep things as peaceable as possible. As a result, there is little in the way of protection should post-election violence return with a vengeance.
To make matters worse, Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best resigned not too long ago due to the contentious relationship that exists between the SPD and the Seattle city council. Best was one of the first black women to ever serve as chief of police in a major American city.
Best’s replacement, interim Police Chief Adrian Diaz, recently made an announcement warning her city that the SPD is not at all prepared to handle any post-election violence that may arise.
“You have to have close to about 1,400 to then have a reasonable number, which puts us to about 1,250, 1,275 that are deployable,” Diaz stated about how many police officers her department would need to respond to potential threats.
“So, you really need about 1,400 people to have a much more reasonable staffing when it comes to having enough in patrol investigations and special operations,” she added.
Should a BLM or Antifa “protest” strike the city in opposition to a potential Trump win, the SPD officers that remain on the force would all have to work perpetual 12-hour shifts with no days off, Diaz warns.
Seattleites only have themselves to blame, it turns out, seeing as how they demanded that criminal rioters be allowed to “protest” violently with no consequences. Meanwhile, police officers are being punished for merely trying to keep the peace, which is now considered to be “racist.”
Militant BLM and Antifa rioters have been so empowered by all this unchecked chaos that they recently stormed and attacked the headquarters of a local news station for broadcasting on television the identities of those arrested and charged for criminal activity – even though this information is publicly available to whomever wants to access it.
Some speculate that Trump himself may deploy federal personnel to the city in the event that he is ultimately declared the winner of the election.
“Whatever happens in Seattle after the election will be a case of the Bolsheviks slaughtering the Mensheviks,” wrote one Big League Politics commenter.
“Patriots essentially do not reside there. So, we need to make sure the Bolsheviks are bottled up in their enclave and prevented from moving into the hinterland to plunder resources. Think of the Siege of Boston in 1775 for an analogy. When sufficient patriotic forces have amassed, a general assault can proceed to eradicate the revolutionary scum.”
