Trump is threatening yet again to unleash kinetic hell on Iran, and I do not believe for one minute that this is about American security. As I have written repeatedly, this war is about Benjamin Netanyahu’s domestic political survival and Donald Trump’s fragile ego, and the people who will pay the price are not the politicians in Washington or Tel Aviv but ordinary families in every corner of the planet.
I want to be blunt about what this strike actually is. It is not a Middle East skirmish contained to a few military bases. Iran has promised to retaliate against Persian Gulf energy infrastructure, and the U.S. intelligence community knew that it would close the Strait of Hormuz before the first bomb ever fell [1]. That makes another attack on Iran an attack on the entire world economy, not just on one country’s government.
The best analogy I can offer to the effects of a renewed bombing campaign on Iran is an asteroid strike on planet Earth. We may not know every impact point in advance, we may not know exactly which cities lose power first or which nations starve first, but we know the blast radius reaches everyone. The Persian Gulf is the global economy’s central artery, and cutting it is not a regional event — it is a planetary one. As I previously stated, the world is not simply fighting over ideology; it is fighting over energy, food, and the narrow maritime corridors that move them [2]. Another attack on Iran puts a knife directly into that artery.
Most Americans still think of the Strait of Hormuz as an oil story. But it’s so much more than that. The Persian Gulf carries oil and natural gas, but it also carries the fertilizer inputs, sulfuric acid, and metals that modern agriculture and industry cannot replace quickly. Natural gas is the feedstock for the Haber-Bosch process that turns gas into fertilizer and feeds billions of people. When you bomb the gas fields, you bomb the food supply one or two growing seasons later.
The sulfur crisis is even less understood and every bit as dangerous. The attacks on Gulf infrastructure have severed the global supply of elemental sulfur and sulfuric acid, as I detailed in my reporting on the global sulfur crisis [3]. Sulfuric acid is the backbone of phosphate fertilizer production, and it is also essential to copper and zinc mining and refining. Cut sulfuric acid, and you cut fertilizer. Cut copper, and you cut grid repair, electrical wiring, and electrification. The chain reaction goes energy, then fertilizer, then food, then mining, then infrastructure — and every link is connected to the same narrow stretch of water.
Commodity markets are global, which is the part the establishment wants you to forget. Even nations that buy zero barrels of Gulf oil will bid up prices and suffer shortages because the market clears at a global price.
Current repair estimates for gas and oil infrastructure are already stretching to three to five years, as I reported when Qatar’s LNG trains were destroyed [4]. That is the optimistic case. If the war expands and more infrastructure is hit, we are looking at a decade of darkness, not a bad quarter. The flash has already happened; the bang is still coming, and the oblivious masses are still shopping as if nothing is wrong [5].
Let me put the economics in plain terms. The Great Depression involved roughly a 20 percent GDP contraction. I am warning that a 20 to 25 percent energy shock can amplify into a 30 to 40 percent global contraction once food, fertilizer, metals, and transport are included. This is not a guess pulled from thin air; it is what happens when you take the multiplier effects of an energy famine and run them through an economy that has no slack left. The war with Iran is already an economic catastrophe that rivals the financial fallout of 2008, and that was before any new strike [6].
At that level of contraction, we are not talking about tighter budgets or a mild recession. We are talking about mass famine, homelessness, failed supply chains, and revolts in vulnerable countries. By the end of 2027, if the Strait of Hormuz accrues many more months of wartime closure, millions of people will starve to death — not from drought or plague, but because a small group of men in Washington and Tel Aviv chose war over peace [7]. The famine years are not a distant hypothetical. They are being scheduled right now by the people demanding another attack.
I do not claim that every nation becomes Mad Max overnight. That would be dishonest and it would not help anyone prepare. But elements of it become real: barter replacing cash in local transactions, fights at fuel pumps, scrounging for basic goods, copper theft from substations and construction sites, ammunition scarcity as supply chains break down. The damage is cascading, not instantaneous, and that is precisely why leaders should stop it before the first missile flies. A slow-motion collapse is still a collapse, and it is far harder to reverse once the fertilizer plants and refineries are rubble.
Jim Quinn has warned that we have already entered this Fourth Turning’s global war [8]. I think he is right about the direction and wrong about the speed. The financial system is already straining under nearly 40 trillion dollars of debt [9], and a Gulf energy shock is exactly the kind of trigger that turns a debt problem into a currency crisis. When the dollar wobbles and energy spikes at the same time, there is no safe asset left except real things — food, fuel, metals, and the means to produce them locally.
I have to say something uncomfortable about the American people: the masses are hyperprivileged, lacking in practical skills, and unprepared. Most people have never missed a meal they did not choose to miss, have never fixed anything mechanical, and have never grown a single calorie of food. When the shelves empty, panic will follow, and panic in a heavily armed society is not a pretty sight. The corporate media has spent decades convincing people that abundance is a permanent condition and that someone else will always handle the details. That illusion is about to be tested.
Trump’s likely answer to the crisis will be martial law and money printing. I believe he may potentially cancel elections under a war emergency or exploit a false flag to justify it. Digital food stamps, CBDC-style rationing, and UBI surveillance systems could arrive within months, turning relief into control. This is how the illusion of democracy ends — not with a single decree, but with a crisis that makes obedience seem necessary.
The globalists have been pushing CBDCs and digital ID for years, and a manufactured emergency is the perfect pretext to roll them out while people are frightened and grateful for anything that looks like help. The evidence for this pattern is already visible. The U.S. government has a long history of engineering crises to expand its power, and the war with Iran is being marketed with the same playbook. As I previously reported, the conflict is engineered to save America’s debt market by driving global demand for dollars even as it unleashes despair everywhere else [10]. That is not a conspiracy theory; it is a description of the incentives sitting in plain sight. The people who profit from chaos are the same people telling you the strike is necessary.
I am not waiting for the panic stage, and neither should you. I am scrambling to get solar panels, batteries, food kits, rainwater catchment, garden seeds, and self-charging transportation because infrastructure is the real currency now. People I know who are intelligent and funded are buying solar, EVs, diesel supplies, food, and garden supplies — not because they are panicking, but because they are paying attention. When the grid goes down and the fuel trucks stop running, the people with panels, batteries, and a garden will be the ones who can help their neighbors instead of begging from them.
The practical steps are not complicated, but they take time and money that may not be available later. Store water and the means to catch more of it. Stock food you will actually eat and learn to grow some of your own. Get seeds for calorie crops and learn when to plant them in your climate. Put up solar and batteries before the shortages hit. Keep some fuel and a way to move without it. Buy a little extra fertilizer if you can find it, as I have been doing [11]. None of this is doomerism; it is rational preparation for leaders who are gambling with the global supply chain.
I also want to recommend a few tools I trust for independent information and learning. NaturalNews.com remains a reliable source of news the corporate media will not report. BrightLearn.ai is a free book library where you can generate your own books on preparedness, gardening, and energy. BrightAnswers.ai is an uncensored AI engine that is more honest than the mainstream alternatives, and BrightVideos.com is a free speech video platform without the censorship you find elsewhere. Brighteon.social is a free speech social media alternative, and BrightNews.ai analyzes independent media trends more honestly than the corporate outlets. Use them while they are still available.
I believe this attack serves politicians, not people. Netanyahu needs a war to hold onto power, and Trump needs a distraction from his own failures and his collapsing approval. The retaliation by Iran could make life in America as difficult as life under Soviet collapse or sanctions-hit Iran. The people of Iran have already suffered under blockades and sanctions aimed at collapsing their country from within [12], and the American people are about to discover what that feels like in their own grocery stores and gas stations.
Once the energy and fertilizer infrastructure is destroyed, no election, no printing press, and no press conference can repair it quickly. The repair timelines are measured in years, not weeks. Trump’s own ceasefire retreat earlier this year showed that even he understood the stakes when he paused the attack [13], but the war party is pushing him back toward the abyss. The smart move is restraint, not escalation.
My position is simple: stop the attack, demand restraint, and prepare locally in case restraint loses. The people who want this war will not be the ones standing in line for bread or fixing the grid. You will be. So be well, take care of your family, build your local resilience, and do not wait for the panic stage to begin. The window for rational preparation is still open, but it is closing with every new threat.
